Research and Planning: Model Head Shots

I have been looking for a model who is around the same age as my target audience, below are shots of potential models or who I think would be inappropriate for the genre.

Model 1

This model is the same age and gender as my target audience therefore they would be able to relate to him so he would be a suitable model for my magazine. Also I think he has the 'look' that is suitable for the genre of my magazine. This model is available for my photo shoot.

Model 2

Even though this model is of the same age as the target audience, she would not be suitable for my magazine as she does not suit the genre. I could dress the model up to suit the genre and use make-up, style her hair differently however I don't think I am going to use this model.

Model 3

This model is of similar age as the target audience. I like her hair colour as it makes her stand out and she could easily be dressed to suit the genre more, here she is wearing minimal make-up therefore it would be easier to apply make-up which I think would be suitable. However for my magazine I think I want to use a male model, however this model could still be a possibility.

Model 4

Research and Planning: Mise-en-scene

I have research album covers, promotional shot and magazine articles that artists from the same genre have appeared in to help me determine the mise-en-scene I will use for my own photo shoot.

After looking at these photo shoots I have decided to use a white background for the main image on the cover, and the other images will be set outside maybe against a wall or on a street.
